Zakhakhel tribes raised Laskkar in Khyber

LANDIKOTAL: To avoid militancy in their area, another clan in Khyber Agency Friday raised lashkar (armed volunteer squad) of hundreds of its volunteers to wash out the area of miscreants.
A grand Jirga held at "Satara Meel"(17 miles),an spot at Khyber, in which, Elders of the Zakhakhel,Nekikhel and Sultan Khel of Afridi clan participated.All the Zakhalkhel tribes elders along with Malik Zada Abdur-Razaq,Shakir Afridi, Malik Zada Iqbal Khyberwal,Mustaqil Afridi and Abdul ghafoor addressed the jirga. In a grand jirga decided to raise an armed lashkar to assist security forces in maintaining law and order in the area. The elders also decided to demolish the houses of those found sheltering the militants and supporting malitancy. The jirga also decided to impose a fine o on those violating the jirga verdict.However, the limit of fines were not specified to the movement. "we are not against the Taliban movement but of those who are sabotaging the area peace and against those who are utilizing the Taliban identity”,said Malik Zada Abdur-Razaq in his warmed addressed.he fruther said that Zakhakhel tribes would defend their area at any cost and will not let any one who,he stressed,making panic in the area,and the formers would face the iron hands.

It is feared that militants from another parts of the agency and the rest of the country would slip into the area following the tribes Lashkar and military joint operations going on in the country.
To block the entry of the militants from the rest of the Agency, the jirga decided that the volunteers would patrol the area alongside security forces. They also decided that the personnel of the armed lashkar would also be deployed at the security check posts. Jirga urged the political administration to cooperation the Zakhakhel tribe's Laskar as did with other tribes Lashkars in other areas of FATA.

The tribal leaders later selected the Seminari(Junaidia Azizia)at Sultankhel the Laskar head quarter and informed the political administration on their step taken agaist militants. In the first step of the jirga, they have composed a committee of twenty members which would be extanded up to fifty.
it was learnt that the next session of the jirga would be convened on Monday at Junaidia Azizia for further decisions.
