LANDIKOTAL : Elders of Shinwari tribes termed the Urdu news papers’ reports false and baseless while commenting on the shinwari’s tribal Laskar, said that they had not raised any armed Lashkar, although, a committee of thirty members responsible for keeping peace of the area.Malik Tahir Shinwari said while commented on the reports that news stories published in Urdu news papers on Tuesday mistakenly published the formation of Shinwari tribes’ Lashkar which he said damaged the values of verdicts of the shinwari jirga. Malik Tahir Shinwari and Haji Gulab shinwari in their separate statements denied of formation of Shinwari Lashkar said that they had a jirga meeting on Monday to tackle down the ongoing situation without harming the public and their properties. In the jirga, held at Jirga Hall Landikotal discussed the overall situation of Landikotal especially the Shinwari area. “Of course, it was a hot issue of the jirga meeting that whether a Lashkar of arms volunteers would be formed or not, which was rejected by Shinwari tribes elders collectively”, However, Malik Tahir said that, with the consensus of the elders a committee of thirty members was composed. it merit to be mentioned here that political administration of Landikotal had convened the jirga of Shinwari elders at the Jirga Hall on Monday which was attended by nearly one hundred local elders. After thoroughly deliberating the prevailing law and order situation, increasing number of kidnapping on the main Pak-Afghan highway and a surge in the activities of militants, the local elders constitute a 30-members peace committee instead of raising a tribal Lashkar.A Shinwari elder, Malik Gulab shinwari had rejected the administration demand of forming tribal Lashkar and had told the administration that his tribe wanted to resolve the issue of deteriorating law and order peacefully and curb the menace of terrorism unleashed by local militants. The jirga has ban entry of non local militant organisations in LandiKotal. Haji Gulab Shinwari said to this scribe that the jirga had assured the administration that no religious organisation would be allowed to come to LandiKotal to impose their own rules on the name of Islam. It was second tribe of Khyber Agency that rejected to raised tribal Lashakr as Kukikhel Afridi tribe of Jamrud Tehsil had refused to raise a Lashkar and resolved to settle disputes with militants through negotiations. Malik Attaullah Kukikhel accused the political administration of pitting tribesmen against their own men. He said that formation of armed Lashkar would further aggravate the already volatile situation in the tribal areas.instead of raising lashkars, the government should strengthen the role of tribal jirga he stressed.
