October is the "Pink Ribbon" Month

Pink Ribbon Day (Monday 27th October) is the signature day of the National Breast Cancer Foundation (NBCF). This year the Pink Ribbon Campaign aims to celebrate the achievements of breast cancer research throughout the month of October (Breast Cancer Month) to raise additional funds.

NBCF has come up with interesting many ways for those who wish to show support to the breast cancer research. The variety of things one can do to participate in this noble cause include, hosting a “Pink Ribbon Breakfast”, purchasing an item from the “Pink Ribbon Shop”, selling merchandise, participating in the “Dove Pink Star Walk”, becoming a volunteer, and purchasing a $2 ribbon.

National Breast Cancer Foundation is the only national not-for-profit organisation funding research into the prevention, detection and treatment of breast cancer. NBCF has funded 168 research programs and raised $44 million for research initiatives to date. The NBCF also aims at improving the quality of life for those people who have been diagnosed with breast cancer.
