With markets crashing all across the world, Dubai is embarking on a new mission to build the "global city of the future." The super duper project is cost approximately $95 billion dollar-around 15% of US economic bailout plan. Meraas will develop the project, Jumeira Gardens, which will have three high-rise mega structures, designed by Adrian Smith and Gordon Gill.
Even though the cost of the structure is super high, it is being designed as a self-sustained community. An "integrated city within a city." Jumeira Gardens will house multi-use developments catering to businesses, residences, retail, recreation and leisure. Plans have not been cemented yet but Meraas Development has confirmed that it will be made up of green buildings with the goal of reducing ecological footprint.
Same guys who designed the Burj Dubai (Adrian Smith and Gordon Gill) are designing this ecological wonder. At the center of the design will be 1 Dubai (see photo) skyscraper that will be 3281 feet making it the third tallest structure in UAE. It has three towers that would be connected via glass suspension sky-bridges.
