Video grab of Al Qaeda's second-in-command Zawahri message criticizing ...

he second-in-command of Islamic militant network al-Qaeda has condemned US President-elect Barack Obama in an audio message.

Ayman al-Zawahri said Mr Obama was not an "honourable black American" but a "house negro" - a demeaning term implying that he serves white people.

Mr Obama's plan to shift US troops to Afghanistan would fail, Zawahri said.

If genuine, the message would be the first acknowledgement by al-Qaeda of the president-elect's victory.

The audio message appeared on militant websites.

Mr Zawahri, an Egyptian by birth, is often referred to as Osama Bin Laden's right-hand man and the chief ideologue of al-Qaeda.

In the short message, he warned Mr Obama of failure if he followed Bush administration policies in the Middle East.

Wow, Now I know that Obama is not liked as much in the Muslim world as Europe. He is a real celebrity in Europe.

Since when is a note from Al Qaeda the same as saying the popularity is lower in the Muslim world than Europe? To me Al Qaeda is nothing else but a terrorist organization that really needs to be separated in any shape and form from the Muslim world. Not saying I approve of any of the methods currently used for eliminating their power.

As for the popularity of Obama in Europe, it really depends on where you are. Obama is probably more popular than the other alternatives, but I wouldn't say he is loved in the whole of Europe. It is the change people love. They want to and desperately hope to see something different, but they do not really believe Obama is as glimmering as media has been painting him to be. He however seems like the better choice right now.

Pastery, I was in France last week and everyone I met asked me about Obama and how much they love Obama and what he represents, change!... As far as Al Qaeda, I hear similar views from Muslims in other countries and in the US, Obama is not friend to the Muslims... he has said that he wants to take action against Pakistan, a sovereign country, to hunt Osama, He did not like having with women with Hijab on stage during his campaign, and he always said he is not Muslim... why does it matter? THIS IS AMERICA
