In 1989, the 10th Panchen LamaPanchen Lama of Tibet stated that "whatever good China has done for Tibet, it will never be equal to the destruction which was caused". Some days later, he was found DEAD.
The monks of the Tashi Lunpo monastery, who were on charge for finding his reincarnation, asked for Dalai LamaDalai Lama's advise. Some years later, in 1995 they found the child they were looking for, the reincarnation of the 10th Panchen Lama, the 11th Panchen Lama. He was 5 years old.
When China found out that Dalai Lama was involved in the research of the reincarnation and that he had given the final and most important approval for the recognition, arrested the FIVE-year old Panchen Lama and his family and begun a propaganda against them in Tibet. Noone has ever heard of them since then. It is believed that he is somewhere in Beijing, under house arrest.
Very soon after this, the Chinese put another team of Lamas to find another kid and give him the title of the 11th Panchen Lama. This child has not been accepted by the Tibetan people all these years.
