The strong earthquake shocks felt in southern region of Taiwan .

The quake's intensity was measured 5.8 on the Richter scale.
The quake came at approximately 4.00AM IST.

The center of the earthquake was at the west coast, 124 kilometers away from Kahosiyung .

As per my knowledge,in September 1999 a strong shock of earthquake was felt in Taiwan having intensity 7.6,which took lives of more than 2,400 people and 50 thousand buildings were destroyed or damaged.
