Osama bin Laden has said that the US President Barrack Obama was following the footsteps of his predecessor George Bush and warned Americans to be prepared for the consequences of the White House’s policies. In an audio recording timed at the visit of the US President to Saudi Arabia, at the start of a Middle East tour. In the audio recording Laden said the US President had planted seeds of revenge and hatred towards the US in the Muslim world al Jazeera tlivision reported.

During the current tour, Obama will visit Egypt, where he will deliver a speech at Cairo University.

On arrival in Saudi Arabia, Obama was greeted at Riyadh's main airport by King Abdullah’ and each leader shook hands with members of his counterpart's entourage.

During his stay, Saudi Arabia might press Obama to exert more pressure on the Israeli prime minister, Binyamin Netanyahu, who is resisting the idea of Palestinian statehood and has rebuffed US calls to halt the expansion of settlements in the West Bank
