Mr. Zardari Knows about those who murdered Benazir - this is what he said on her anniversary last year. So why doesn't he tell the Nation and have the murderer face the death penalty. If Mr. Zardari doesn't tell the Nation, then I am afraid he must explain his reasons for not doing so. In fact his children should have asked him this question!!!

Pakistani people have seen enough by now - hunger, insecurity, bad governance, adverse macro economic indicators, no clue to the death of their leader!!! What more ?
You are right Popri. Why do'nt you help me in spreading this message to those whom you know on the Globe. ask them to contribute their comments on my request. Ahmad
President Zardari proclaimed today that he knows Benazir's murderers and would reveal (some day). He was adressing Pakistan Peoples Party Leadership at Naudero, Larkana. If he knows why is he not revealing it now? peoples Party senior leadership and workers are asking only one quetion and that is who is BB's murderers and when would they be punished Wy not even the First Information Report has not ben lodged even after one year of BB's assassination?. Why it is that no enquiry commission has been appointed to enquire into the circumstances, and persons responsible for BB's murder has been appointed?
These are some of the questions which are in every Party Member's mind, and the Peoples Party Government has to answer without any further delay.
Consequent to last week attacks on Bumbai, Indian Government without there being adequate evidence has adopted extremely unreasonable attitude towards Pakistan. From day one, within hours of the terrorists attack on Bumbai hotels/restaurants, which resulted in most unfortunate loss of over 200 human lives, Indian Government, media and the extremist Hindu elements have started the blame game on Pakistan Government and the religious groups.
Only yesterday, speaking at a joint conference with visiting US Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice, Indian Foreign Minister Parnab Mukherjee said that India had no doubt that the militants had come and coordinated from Pakistan. He warned that all options were open in dealing with Pakistan which would depend upon Pakistan Authorities’ response. Rice refused to ‘jump to any conclusions about who is responsible’ notwithstanding that the US Intelligence Officials have privately supported Indian accusations. She, however, said “Pakistan needs to act with urgency and with resolve and cooperate fully and transparently”. Rice said that “Pakistan has special responsibility to cooperate with the investigation into the deadly Bumbai attacks”.
The US Secretary of States’ response to Bumbai attacks is similar to the one given by US Chief of Staff Admiral Mike Mullen presently on visit to Pakistan. He has also asked Pakistan to “investigate aggressively” any possible links that groups based in Pakistan have to the Bumbai attacks. Mullen met President Zardari along with top military and security leadership and was assured of Pakistan’s commitment to join India in probing the Bumbai attacks.
The US Bipartisan Commission in its recent Report ‘World at Risk’ has referred to Pakistan as the weakest link in world security. The Report says that “Although Pakistan is a close US ally, its inability to control swaths of territory, violent political instability, and a nuclear stand off with neighbouring India make the Islamic nation the most lethal tinderbox of all”.
Looking back at President Zardari’s overtly friendly gestures towards India during his recent address to the Delhi Conference (as reported above), and one sided statements forthcoming from India (and of course from m the US), there is a definite need for Pakistan to review its overall foreign policy – more particularly in the context of its relations with India and the US. Pakistan has sacrifice a lot over the years in pursuit of supporting the international effort in removing the threat from extremists. Yet when it comes to their national interests, both India and US has let down Pakistan
I was depressed less n his comments but more on our selection of a man who definitly did not deserve the position he is holding. It is time that both the main stream politicians, intelligentia and the civil society should give a serious thought to protecting national interests.
My friend you are right. I was totally depressed while hearing these comments on TV. We are blessed with a leader who is devoid of even the common sense not to speak of basics of diplomacy and Pakistan-India historical perspective.
Just to add some of her expressions to make the story wholesome!
In the three years since Brad Pitt and Jennifer Aniston ended their Hollywood marriage, Aniston has barely said a word about the break-up and the woman who stole Pitt's heart, Angelina Jolie.
But in an interview for the December issue of Vogue magazine, Aniston finally talks about the split and the Oscar-winning actress who is now Pitt's companion, saying the way Jolie revealed details of her relationship with "Ocean's Eleven" star was "really uncool."
Aniston, 39, told Vogue Jolie should not have given a detailed account of how her relationship with Pitt developed on the set of the 2005 movie "Mr. & Mrs. Smith," when Aniston and Pitt were still together. Those details were revealed in Jolie's 2007 interview with Vogue.
"There was stuff printed there that was definitely from a time when I was unaware that it was happening," Aniston said.
"That stuff about how she couldn't wait to get to work every day? That was really uncool," said Aniston.
Aniston and Pitt finalized their divorce in August 2005 after announcing their separation in January that year
Pitt and Jolie now have three biological children and three adopted children, and are involved in humanitarian causes. They have emerged as one of Hollywood's most influential couples.
Aniston also has a lot of clout in Hollywood. She starred in the hit former television sitcom "Friends," and in 2002 won an Emmy for her role in the show.
She has also starred in movies including "Friends with Money" and the upcoming "Marley and Me."
In the Vogue interview, Aniston says she still talks to Pitt and occasionally the two exchange "very kind hellos and wishing you wells."
Zardari is no different at home. He is apparantly crowded by a slect group of party women! Whatever his past, Mr. Zardari must understand he is the President of a country and learn to behave respectably.
Unfortunately, a lot of so called 'liberals' have endeavored to defend this most undefendable act of M. President treating this as some thing very normal with a man! I detest this line of thinking with the educated lot perhapes, our people seem to be exceptionally chauvinist
It is just not embarrassing; it is insulting for the Peoples of Pakistan. The Gentleman (!) named Zardari did not deserve to be the President of Pakistan. Will some one from his party teach him the difference between meeting a dignitary and a women at -------.
Benazir was mercilessly killed on 27 December 2007 in Rawalpindi, Pakistan. Gen(R) Musharaf's Government conducted investigaions in coordination with the British Intelligence Services. Pakistan Peoples Pary was not satisfied with the investigation results. PPP and Mr. Zardari (the husband of late Benazir) demanded investigation at international level through the UN.
PPP was voted into power in February 2008 and its candidate was sworn in as PM in March 2008. Mr. zardari took over as Pakistan President in August 200. Instead of now carrying out the investigation itself PPP continues with its idea of UN Investigation into the circumstances leading to Benazir murder and the persons responsible.President Zardari devoted 3/4th of his speech to UN General Assembly on 25 September eulogising late Benazir Bhutto and calling on the international community to ensure UN investigation on the murder of his wife.
Very interestingly! As one recalls faces of the person who targeted Benazir with revolver aimed at her are clearly seen through the TV Reporting of the murder. Simiarly, the person standing behind Benazir while she was addressing the public meeting in Rawalpindi and continuously making gestures to unidentifiable person(s) persons is already murdered. No post-martum was carried out of the dead body on the instructions of Mr. Zardari. The scene of the murder was washed/cleaned within an hour of the murder.
Now what is that Pakistan Government expects from UN Investigations !!
I have strong doubts about the opening of a war between Pakistan and US; however the skirmishes would further unsettle the already dangerously unsettled tribal belt between Afghanistan and Pakistan. Pakistan could be the biggest loser in the process. The history however is a witness to the fact that no foreign invader is ever successful in achieving its objectives of war against the tribes.
Given his track record, Asif Zardari is a bad news for Pakistan. His recent history of broken promises with his political partners does not augur well in the overall political scenario. Pakistan requires a stable, reliable and above the board person as its President. mr. zardari is defintly not the one!
